Hopefully the beach is as beautiful as it was and the coral continues to thrive. Maybe the turtle has laid some more eggs.

Bintan, Indonesia
Round one of our travels. Below is where we are heading for first. On Wednesday we fly to Singapore and stay just overnight (knowing Singapore reasonably well by now, as experienced travellers - well, one of us is) and then taking the ferry to Bintan, an Indonesian Island.
Bintan is a bit off the well beaten tourist track, apart from about four resort hotels occupied mainly by rich Singaporeans at incredibly high rates per night. Our accommodation is far more modest, as you can see below. Mieke has been there before in 2000. Shady Shack sort of developed from a homestay so hopefully it's still fairly local and somewhere where we can meet local people. Mieke did last time anyway. Here it is:
